single.is AI and Matching Notice
Version and effective date: 11 August 2026
In short
Core single.is matching uses predefined rules. If both people give separate optional consent, Google Gemini may compare pseudonymised answer patterns and return an advisory score and short explanation. It may also rank public venue and time options. A Papaya team member decides whether to send an introduction, and users decide whether to accept it.
Data sent
For matching: question keys, answer options, rankings, and a rule-based baseline score for two people.
For venue/time advice: public venue names and addresses, ratings, date type, and candidate times.
Data not sent
Names, national IDs, birth dates, ages, profile IDs, email addresses, phone numbers, postcodes, photos, bios, messages, safety reports, and admin notes are not sent to Gemini for these purposes.
Control and rights
- AI is not preselected and is not required for rule-based matching.
- Both people must have active consent before matching data is sent.
- Consent can be withdrawn in Settings and associated AI scores are then deleted.
- AI output is advisory, may be wrong, and is not a fact about a person.
- You may ask for a general explanation or raise a concern at
single@single.is.
Requests use store:false; Papaya does not enable optional log or dataset sharing for model training, and a paid Gemini service is used for the EEA. Google may still process limited records for security, abuse prevention, or legal duties under its applicable terms.
